Historic Judd Hall

Judd Hall is one of the most storied buildings on the Wesleyan Campus. When it opened in 1871 it was the first building in the United States dedicated exclusively to undergraduate science instruction. It also previously housed Wesleyan’s Natural History Museum and is where the “calorie” as a unit of measurement was invented by a Wesleyan professor. Today’s Judd Hall is home to our Psychology Department and active psychology research labs.
