Events
We invite you to imagine and create alternate futures through our performance events. We host three regular performance series as well as guest artists, workshops and more.
Theater Department Main Stage Productions
Two productions per year, staged towards the end of each semester, directed by faculty members or guest artists and featuring student performers and designers. These productions span a broad range of theatrical styles and traditions, offering students hands-on experience with ambitious, fully resourced work. Recent productions include Marta Becket Save Us All and The Crucible.
Senior Capstone Productions
Ranging from two to four per year, these student-led projects are often fully realized staged performances that serve as the culmination of a theater major's work at Wesleyan. Projects may take the form of directing, devising, writing, performance, or design — and in many cases, a single student may take on several of these roles simultaneously.
Breaking New Ground Series
An annual series of programming dedicated to hosting BIPOC artists in the Theater Department, providing students with the opportunity to engage directly with a diverse range of working theater makers, performers, and creators. The series reflects the department's commitment to expanding the voices and perspectives represented on its stages.
